We should not get disappointed with ourselves or anyone else. See if you agree with my thinking. of course, I could be wrong.

We get disappointed when things don't meet our expectations. The question is, should we have expectations at all?

Expectations for ourselves are second cousin to pride. We think we are better than we prove to be.

As if that is bad enough, expectations for others are kin to arrogance. We judge a person should be better than they actually are. Often we expect better from other people than we can deliver ourselves.

So, lets bring some truth to this. We are human. We make mistakes. It is utter pride to not accept this. If we fail, then how dare we demand that other people be more perfect than us?

Look at God's grace. Does He have a go at you every time you slip? Not at all. He helps you up and bears with you while you try again. And He keeps on doing that. Every time, we become a little better because of the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

If this is the grace we receive, then it should also be the grace we give.

God looks on each one of us as if we were already perfected in righteousness. That is how we should look at one another. But when a person fails, we should understand and accept that this is part of their ongoing training by God. We should not condemn them for falling as we do so often. Instead, we should encourage them to try again.

We should support and strengthen one another. Not criticise and condemn.

Try this for yourself. You won't be disappointed.
